01 / EDUCATION
A chance to learn.
A reason to dream.
When a child’s education is interrupted, getting back to school can open a new chapter.
Love in Action has helped children return to learning and continue studies. In Kisenge Kapyanga, a community’s hope for its children has become lessons under a tree.
Learning that opens doors
In Bbuto, our education work brings together help with schooling, scholarship support, and opportunities to continue learning. Teacher development helps strengthen the learning experience, while financial education and Christian formation support life beyond the classroom.
Continuing school
Trevor’s journey shows how school support and encouragement can help a young person keep moving forward. Having completed his UCE examinations, he is working towards the next stage of his education and his dream of university.
Learning in Kisenge
Children have begun lessons with a teacher. The next goal is a classroom that provides shelter from the rain and sun.
A new learning space in Bbuto
Shalom House is planned to include tuition-free learning for more than 500 individuals in the community. The shared hall would be used for lessons during the week. This space remains part of the building project.
What comes next
Provision for school requirements, registration and examination costs, alongside guidance for university opportunities. In Kisenge, the priority is a first classroom for the children already learning.

Small acts of care.
Relationships that grow.
A visit, food for a family, or a pair of shoes can be a practical expression of love.
In Kisenge Kapyanga, Love in Action has walked alongside families through community visits, encouragement, food, and clothing. Those relationships have also helped reveal a shared need for children’s education.
Responding to everyday needs
Support has included food, clothes, and shoes for children. These are practical responses to the needs families face.
Coming alongside the community
Our relationship with Kisenge has grown over time. Parents, children, and a teacher are now part of a learning journey that began before a classroom was ready.
Looking ahead together
The planned learning structure will give children shelter and provide a place where families can gather for fellowship and community activities.

Care should be
within reach.
For families in rural Uganda, even basic health services can be difficult to access.
Our medical camps bring screening and health education into communities where care is hard to reach. The work gives people an opportunity to learn about their health and discuss concerns closer to home.
Health checks in the community
Screening priorities include high blood pressure, HIV, malaria, typhoid, H. pylori, and conditions affecting metabolism. These checks are part of the outreach program, alongside education about health.
Understanding health
Health education accompanies screening, giving people space to ask questions and build their understanding of the health concerns discussed at the camps.
Planned serviceA base for ongoing outreach
The planned medical office at Shalom House would provide a permanent base in Bbuto for walk-in care and community health activities. The office is not yet open.

A business idea.
A path forward.
The Bbuto Business Hub is designed to help people turn ideas into small businesses.
The planned pilot brings practical business learning together with Christian principles. Its purpose is to give participants skills, guidance, and initial support as they prepare to earn an income through a business of their own.
Planned pilotTwenty weeks of learning
The proposed course combines faith with approaches to enterprise development drawn from HOPE International, Opportunity International, and EMPRETEC.
Support beyond the lessons
Mentorship is intended to help participants apply what they learn as they develop their businesses.
Help to get started
The model includes a revolving investment fund to help participants launch. Training, mentoring, and access to initial capital form the planned support package.
This pilot is planned for 2026.

A community grows stronger when people have practical resources and places to come together.
Our community development work focuses on water access, shared spaces, and activities that bring neighbours together in Bbuto and beyond. These efforts support both everyday life and the relationships at the heart of a community.
Everyday foundations
Access to water and useful community spaces are priorities within this work. They sit alongside activities that strengthen connection and shared faith.
A shared home in Bbuto
Shalom House brings this vision into one building: a place for worship, a planned medical office, and a hall intended for children’s learning during the week.
The next step is upwards
The land is secured and the building foundation is complete. We are now seeking funding for the first and second floors.
